Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What are the amenities that come with a boat slip?
A. Two transferable parking permits, dockbox, fresh water, and access to tenant lounges and laundry facilities are included. Electricity is metered and billed seperately.

Q. Do you allow liveaboards?
A. Yes. We do not allow liveaboards to be next to or accross from each other, however.

Q. How many nights am I allowed to stay aboard without liveaboard status?
A. You are allowed nine (9) nights per month.

Q. What are the move-in requirements for a boat slip, apartment, or office space?
A. Good credit is essential. All prospective tenants must pass our credit check/screening. For a boat slip, we require current registration or Coast Guard Documentation in your name, an Insurance Certificate providing $100,000/$300,000 liability insurance and $50,000 accident/property damage covering King Harbor Marina, Inc. and the City of Redondo Beach as additional insureds, first month's rent, plus two (2) months rent (to be held as security deposit). For an apartment or office space, we require first month's rent, plus one (1) month's rent plus $375 (to be held as security deposit).

Q. If I plan to vacate my space, what kind of notice do you require? And do you prorate the rent for partial months?
A. We require a standard thirty (30) day written notice. Vacate dates ending on a date other than the last day of the month will be prorated based on a thirty (30) day month.

Q. If I have a maintenance request, what do I do?
A. Simply contact our office. We pride ourselves on our excellent full-time maintenance staff. They can usually get to your maintence request the same day, if not the next day. Maintenance requests made on a Sunday will be responded to on the next day.

Q. What are your office hours?
A. Our office is open for business Tuesday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Q. How is the security on your property?
A. We have parking staff on duty daily who monitor our parking areas and entrance gates, our Assistant Dockmaster patrols the entire premises during office hours, and we have a daily security guard on duty from 9:00 PM through 5:00 AM. We cannot be everywhere at once, however. Therefore, we also rely on our tenants to report any suspicious activity. We maintain an excellent "Dockwatch" program, as well.

Q. Do you have boat launching facilities?
A. There is no boat launching ramp in King Harbor. However, the Redondo Beach Marina has a boat lift that can lower your boat into the water for a small fee.

Q. Do you maintain a boat slip waiting list? And what is the requirements to be on the list?
A. Yes. We currently have a waiting list for most slip sizes. To be on our waiting list, we require a credit application, signed waiting list agreement, and a refundable $100 deposit. This deposit is also applicable to your move-in costs once called from the list.

Q. What if I have a billing inquiry?
A. Send an e-mail to billing@kingharbor.com. You will usually get your answer the same day or the next morning.
